Hello Slovenski Park Members, Families and Friends
With the restrictions in place to keep us safe during COVID 19, we have not been able to gather and have fun at our various Slovenian Organizations. Even though Slovenski Park is closed, we want to keep the community engaged ... So, we will be hosting a VIRTUAL MAY 24 CELEBRATION. Usually we have our annual ELECTRIC JELLO DANCE PARTY - but this year it will be a different - physical distance style!
Join us on-line Sat May 23 at 8:00 pm. DJ Joe will be spinning his tunes. Join in the live chat. Sing and dance along to Slo Park's choice songs - rock, pop, classics, polkas, best of the new, and all time favourites. Watch on Facebook beginning Mon May 18 for videos, pics, and on-line tutorials to get everything ready for a rocking party Sat May 23. Facebook videos will include "How To " make jello shooters. "How To" decorate your home with neon colours ... just to name a few. And then, join us on-line Sat May 23, as we live view from DJ Joe's living room to yours. You don't have to be a Slovenski Park member to join in the fun - this event is open to all Slovenians, their families, and friends. To all Slovenian organizations we welcome you to extend the invitation to your members. We encourage you to share this invitations to all friends by posting on your social media.
Details can easily be found on the Slovenski Park Facebook page. This virtual event is our way to stay connected. Make the best of social isolation and having to stay inside. Let the good times rock and roll in your home with our VIRTUAL MAY 24 ELECTRIC JELLO DANCE PARTY. From your friends at Slovenski Park - a tradition and a legacy.
Normally heading into the long weekend Slobeat would be playing Saturday night at Slovenski Park. Since that can't happen this year, we thought we would...
Missing our big MAY 24 CELEBRATION this holiday wknd with SLOBEAT, but this should tie you over till next wknd's ON- LINE Dance Party with DJ JOE. Awesome job - tech and music. THANKS SO MUCH SLOBEAT!
Years ago, hidden behind country roads and highways, and buried within twenty-two acres of bush and bog was a vision.
A vision of a social gathering place where Slovenians could congregate, and continue to enjoy life as they once knew from a homeland left behind, but not forgotten.
Only through the hard work and nurturing of dedicated Slovenians was that vision made possible.
Forty years later that vision as we know it, is Slovenski Park!
We strive to keep Slovenian traditions and culture alive through various events during the summer season.
Thank you to our fabulous park sponsors! With your support this park is a treasured piece of the Slovenian community.
